Roderick Paulate hints dismissal election-related
Roderick Paulate has hinted that his dismissal as councilor of Quezon City is related to the May local and national elections.
"Sad to say, marming humusga na kahit 'di nila naiintindihan ang nangyayari sa akin... Tinaon nila sa election period na... Basta truth will prevail," Paulate said on his Instagram account.
Paulate, Quezon City Second District's councilor, was reacting to a fan's comment: Tinanggal ka sa pwesto bakit hindi mo ipagtanggol sarili mo sa media grabe yan kaso sayo Kuya Dick.
Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales ordered Paulate, Francisco Calalay and city liaison officers Flordeliza Alvarez and Vicente Bajamunde dismissed over the alleged hiring of "ghost employees" in 2010.
The Ombudsman found Paulate and the other accused guilty of falsification of official documents, serious dishonesty and grave misconduct.
Paulate said that news about his dismissal is "OA (overacting)."
"Hindi naman ito malaki, sobrang pinalalaki lang ng mga nasa likod nito ang kasinungalingan ito," he said on his Instagram account.

Aside from their dismissal, the Ombudsman also meted Paulate and the others with accessory penalties of perpetual disqualification from holding public office, cancellation of eligibility, and forfeiture of retirement benefits.
Morales has directed the Department of Interior and Local Government to implement the dismissal order against Paulate and the other officials.
