Man killed in Navotas street shooting
A man was killed in a street shooting in Navotas City, before dawn Sunday.
Police said the victim, who has yet to be identified, was walking along Road 10 in Barangay North Bay Boulevard South when a lone gunman shot him in the head at around 1 a.m.
Barangay Chairman Domingo Elape said the victim, wearing a blue shirt, camouflage pants and a gray jacket, was returning from a fiesta celebration and was with his three friends when he was attacked.
Police are having a hard time identifying the shooter because there was no CCTV camera installed in the barangay.
The shooting happened even as the Philippine National Police is implementing the elections gun ban.
Checkpoints have been set up around the country due to the gun ban, which is being implemented to make sure that the May elections will be peaceful. —ALG, GMA News
