Cabbies willing to give exact change under Duterte admin
Even though it could mean less daily earnings for them, taxi drivers are willing to give exact change to passengers in compliance with presumptive president Rodrigo Duterte's instruction.
Another driver, Gino Opelya, meanwhile, said some passengers let drivers keep the change.
He also asked taxi companies to provide their drivers with enough loose change before they start picking up passengers.
This was just one of the changes that Duterte, who ruled Davao City as mayor for many terms and is known for his tough leadership, said he wants to implement under his administration.
Rodrigo Fortuno, another taxi driver, welcomed these proposed changes, which include curfew on minors and a 10 p.m. liquor ban.
Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairman Emerson Carlos said they are already preparing solutions for troublemakers who may refuse to comply with the new rules. —Rie Takumi/KBK, GMA News
