Drunken man challenges Duterte to duel after being arrested
A drunk man in Novaliches, Quezon City challenged President-elect Rodrigo Duterte to a gun duel after he was arrested because of disorderly conduct.
A report on GMA-7’s “24 Oras” on Tuesday said the unidentified man was arrested by the Quezon City Police District under Oplan Disciplinary Hour after he pointed a gun at his neighbors in Barangay Gulod. No one was reported hurt because of the incident.
“Duterte mag-draw tayo. Mag-draw tayo. Bigyan mo ako baril. Walang problema. Bakit ako matatakot?” the suspect said.
He continued his ramblings and sort of confessed that he acquired his firearm illegally.
“Ako nahuli dahil lasing ako. Dahil sa kasalanan ko, nagpaputok ako ng baril. Ito nahuli ako,” he said.
“Binili ko [ang baril]! Hindi lisensyado iyan. Galing iyan sa ilegal,” he added
His neigbors said that the suspect also fired a gun. Later, the police were able to recover a slug and a bullet of a 9mm gun. But they were not able to find the firearm.
For the same Oplan Disciplinary Hour, the authorities were able to pick up minors who were half-naked or drinking on side streets.
Barangay Gulod Kagawad Antonio del Rosario of the Barangay Council Protection for Children said that some resisted the reprimand.
“Lumaban kasi sa kapulisan at siyempre isinasaayos natin ang paghuhuli, pinapakisusapan natin na sumama, siguro nagkaroon ng hinding magandang pakikipag-usap, lumaban. Kaya nakuha nang pwersahan,” he said.
The police also inspected computer shops operating after midnight. They were able to recover nine minors.
“Pinapatawag iyong magulang, sinusundo dito. Hindi kasi namin nire-release hangga’t wala ang mga magulang. Kinakausap namin, diplomasya. May counseling, meron pa kaming Word of God na ginagawa, may kasama kaming pastor,” Del Rosario added. —Trisha Macas/JST, GMA News
