Heavy traffic expected in Pasig on June 28 due to Iglesia ni Cristo event
The local government of Pasig City warned commuters and motorists of the possible heavy traffic in thoroughfares surrounding the PhilSports Arena on Tuesday afternoon as religious group Iglesia Ni Cristo conducts an outreach mission.
According to the Traffic Security Plan released by the Office of the Pasig City Mayor, heavy traffic may ensue in areas around the Philippine Sports Complex as INC members gather for the Lingap Pamamahayag outreach event from 2 to 6 p.m.
Authorities warned that the heavy traffic may occur as early as 12 noon.
The following streets and roads will be used for parking purposes:
- Captain Henry Javier Street (Parking for emergency vehicles and buses)
- St. Martin Street (One-side parking for light vehicles)
- Meralco Avenue (Parking for buses from the corner Capt. Henry Javier to Shaw Boulevard)
- Lanuza Avenue (One-side parking for buses)
- Julia Vargas Avenue (Parking for buses)
- St. Paul Road (One-side parking for buses)
The traffic rerouting scheme was announced in a post by the Pasig City government on its Facebook Page on Monday.
