Driver, conductor of bus that nearly ran over fallen passenger suspended
The bus driver and conductor of the Jasper Jean bus that nearly ran over a female passenger who fell after alighting from the bus have already been suspended, GMA News' Tina Panganiban-Perez reported on Balitanghali on Wednesday.
Jasper Jean Liner representative Aileen Bulaon said the driver and the conductor were also summoned to face management after a video of the incident, taken from a dashboard camera, went viral on the internet.
In the video, two female passengers were seen alighting the bus in a no-unloading spot with the bus still running. One of them fell near the wheel, but neither the driver nor the conductor, who both witnessed the incident, offered help.
Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) chairman Martin Delgra said they have called the driver and conductor for a hearing regarding the incident.
"We have dealt with it already, as immediately as the news came in. There's going to be a hearing on that incident. I don't like that kind of incident, actually," Delgra said.
Delgra also expressed his distaste for fixers, illegal parking, and illegal public transportation or "colorum" vehicles and warned public bus lines to avoid these practices.
"Ang sinabi ko sa kanila, makokompromiso yung mga applications nila. Sila mismo. They will have to avoid those fixers," Delgra said. —Rie Takumi/KBK, GAM News
