Two riders were killed by the police in a shootout along C5 road in Las Piñas City, GMA's Vonne Aquino reported on "Unang Balita."

According to the Las Piñas police, they tried to stop the riders while they were conducting Oplan Sita early Thursday morning.

The motorcycles did not have plate numbers and both riders were not wearing helmets.

However, the riders did not stop, that prompted the police to be suspicious that they could be involved in illegal activities.

The police then decided to go after the riders and when they were cornered along C5 Road, the suspects started to shoot at them.

Both riders were killed and the police were able to recover six sachets of suspected shabu, foil and two firearms.

The police were only able to identify one of the suspects who carried an ID card as Joven Dabu. Authorities are also checking if the motorcyles were stolen. — BAP, GMA News
