Karen Bordador's mother insists on daughter's innocence, asks for a stop to condemnation

Radio disc jockey Bordador's mother Norie broke down in tears when she visited her daughter at the SPD headquarters in Taguig City on Wednesday.

Norie defended her daughter and disputed her alleged involvement in illegal drugs.

"Hindi totoo yun. Si Karen ay against drugs. We don't deserve this. We don't deserve this. Tigilan na nila yung pagko-condemn sa kanya," she said.

Bordador and boyfriend Emilio Lim were arrested in a buy-bust operation last Saturday. Confiscated were ecstasy tablets, ecstasy powder, cracked ecstasy, dried marijuana leaves, and marijuana resins/oil with estimated value amounting to P2.8 million, drug paraphernalia, and money counting machines.

Police said Lim, 32, was the supplier of ecstasy and other party drugs in high end bars in Bonifacio Global City and Makati City.

Norie said her daughter is still in shock over the arrest.

But according to the District Anti-Illegal Drugs Unit of the Manila Police District, Bordador herself was involved in the transaction leading to their arrest.

"Inutusan ni Lim si Karen. (Si Karen mismo) ang kumuha sa bag para ibigay naman dito kay Lim bago ibinigay sa ahente," Sanghel said. —Joseph Tristan Roxas/JST, GMA News
