St. Luke’s QC nurse found dead in her rented room

A female nurse of the St. Luke's Medical Center in Quezon City was found dead early Saturday morning in her rented room in New Manila.

Citing initial information from local authorities, James Agustin of dzBB Super Radyo said the victim, September Paz, 23, was found bloodied and dead inside her room on the 2nd Floor of a house along Doña Juana Rodriguez St. in Barangay Kristong Hari.

QCPD police investigator PO2 Louie Serbito told GMA News that his station received a call at about 6:15 a.m. informing them of the situation.

An initial investigation indicated that the victim hailed from Ilocos Norte and was working as nurse assigned at the cardiovascular unit of the St. Luke's Medical Center (SLMC), which is just a few blocks away from Barangay Kristong Hari.

Barangay officials suspect that Paz was killed before dawn Saturday.

Paz's roommate said that she left their place before 8 p.m. for her night duty at the SLMC. The victim worked on a day shift and used to sleep alone at night.

A scene of the crime operation (SOCO) report showed that the victim's body was riddled with stab wounds from yet undetermined sharp object.

On the other hand, barangay tanods are studying a CCTV footage showing a group of men entering and later exiting the area.

Authorities are still clueless as to the motive for the crime. A police investigation is ongoing on the case, the radio report said. — LBG, GMA News
