Metro Manila cops banned from taking selfies, picking nose in public


Policemen in Metro Manila have been prohibited from playing online games and taking selfies while on patrol.

Chief Superintendent Rolando Nana, deputy regional director for operations of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), also said in a memorandum he signed that policemen on patrol are not allowed to chew gums, pick their nose, and scratch any part of their body.

A radio dzBB report said that Nana's memorandum also prohibits policemen from standing with one leg and other unseemly posture in public.

The NCRPO said the directive was issued after policemen posted on their social media accounts selfies while conducting patrol on Metro Manila streets.

The regional office said that more policemen have been deployed to patrol Metro Manila streets.

It said that 85 percent of its total force are now doing patrol operations for increase police visibility. —ALG, GMA News
