Police kill 3 drug suspects in Quezon City, Manila
Police killed three drug suspects, one of them also a suspected hired gun, in separate operations in Quezon City and Manila.
Superintednent Lito Patay, commander of the Quezon City Police District's Station 6, said his men rushed to Fort Magsaysay Street in Barangay Holy Spirit after receiving information about the presence of two armed men.
Patay said the suspects fired at policemen upon their arrival in the area resulting in an armed encounter.
One of the suspects, identified as Ibrahim Abulkair alias Amir, was killed during the clash. The other suspect, Eugene Guico, was arrested.
Patay said they seized eight sachets of shabu and two handguns -- a .45 pistol and a .38 revolver -- from the two suspects.
He said Abulkair and Guico are also suspected hired guns.
Meanwhile, two still unidentified men were killed by policemen in an alleged encounter in Sampaloc, Manila around 2 a.m. Tuesday.
Senior Inspector Elias Dematera, Gulod Police Community Precinct commander, said they received a call from a concerned citizen about a group of men having a "pot session" in West Vigan-Paltok area.
Dematera said the two suspects fired at the approaching policemen.
He said his men recovered six sachets of shabu and two .38 revolvers at the crime scene.
Investigations are ongoing to identify the two suspects. —ALG, GMA News
