4 killed, 4 arrested in Quezon City drugs bust

Police operatives killed four suspected drug users and arrested four others in a buy-bust operation in Quezon City late Monday.

The main target of the operation, Ricardo Mamaril, was included in the drugs watchlist of Barangay San Antonio.

Mamaril was killed in the buy-bust operation conducted at a suspected drug den in Barangay Pag-Asa.

Authorities said a police asset bought shabu worth P500 from Mamaril. But when he was about to be arrested, the suspect and four others fired at the police, who retaliated.

Police killed Mamari, a certain Chan Chan and two unidentified suspects during the alleged shootout.

Four more drug suspects were arrested during the operation, police said.

Recovered from the suspects were two .45 pistols, two .38 revolvers, and approximately 15 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of P30,000. —Erwin Colcol/ALG, GMA News
