Police have arrested a man who posed online as a photographer and manager of models for the alleged rape of a sixteen-year-old girl.

Senior Inspector Pidencio Saballo Jr., Manila Police District Station 4 investigations chief, identified the suspect as Aldwin Angelo Cruz, 34 years old.

Saballo said Cruz was arrested in an entrapment operation at the World Trade Center in Pasay City on Sunday night.

The entrapment operation was set against Cruz based on the complaints of the sixteen-year-old girl and her friend.

The girl said that she got acquainted with Cruz through Facebook, where the suspect introduced himself as a manager of models and a photographer.

The complainant claimed that Cruz asked her to send "daring" photos through Facebook. She said the suspect told her that she will be paid up to P12,000 for the daring photos that she will send.

The girl said that after sending nude photos, the suspect started blackmailing her and asked for a meet-up. The suspect allegedly threatened her that her daring photos will become viral if she would refuse to meet.

The complainant said Cruz raped her in a hotel last Friday.

"Pinapasok niya po ako sa hotel. Sinampal po ako saka niya po ako pinagsamantalahan... Hindo po ako nakahingi ng tulong kasi natakot po ako," the girl said.

Cruz also allegedly tried to victimize the girl's friend – also a minor – who responded to the same ad.

The complainant's friend told police that Cruz asked her to send daring photos as well, but she refused.

Cruz then allegedly threatened the two girls and told them to meet him at the World Trade Center.

Saballo said that right after the two girls reported Cruz's modus, they immediately set up an entrapment operation.

"Nagpanggap kami na naka-Uber kami. Kasama na namin iyong dalawang bata sa sasakyan. Yung suspek ang magbabayad kaya lumapit siya sa 'min. Paglapit ng suspek, sabi ng victim positive daw," the police officer said.

Saballo said they will file complaints of rape and violation of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 against Cruz. —report from Athena Imperial/ALG, GMA News
