NBI nabs 12 illegal gambling suspects in a KTV bar in Manila
Operatives of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested 12 individuals allegedly involved in illegal gambling in a KTV bar in Sta. Cruz, Manila, an exclusive report on Unang Balita said Friday.
Authorities found a television screen which showed that a horse racing betting game was being conducted inside the KTV bar, GMA News' Mav Gonzales reported.
An undercover agent posed as a bettor. His money was received despite the fact that the KTV bar does not have a license to operate from the Games and Amusement Board.
This then prompted authorities to arrest the two bet collectors, personnel, and the supervisor of the said bar. Eight other individuals who were caught betting were also arrested.
The suspects, however refused to comment on the matter. They will face charges related to illegal gambling.
Meanwhile, the NBI reminded the public to only deal with legitimate and licensed gaming operators. —Marlly Rome Bondoc/KG, GMA News
