'Aswang' escapes, two drug suspects killed in Navotas police operation

The top drug suspect in Navotas City escaped a police operation on Saturday night.

The Navotas City Police Office said Jojo Aswang, who allegedly maintains a drug group in the city, was able to escape its operation at the suspect's hideout at Market 3, Barangay NBBS.

The Navotas City police said Aswang's group was able to sense its operatives' presence and immediately fired at the policemen.

Two alleged members of Aswang's group identified as Emilio Rosi Jr., 25 and Junmar Abletes, 27, were killed by the police during the operation.

"Jojo Aswang, however, escaped from the scene," the police said in its report.

Police recovered two .38 pistols and live ammunition from the crime scene. —ALG, GMA News
