Alleged armed robber killed in Caloocan shootout

An alleged armed robber was killed early Sunday morning in what police claim was a shootout in Caloocan City's Barangay Bagong Silang.

According to a report on GMA 7 news program "24 Oras Weekend", a revolver and several slugs were found near the fatality.

Police investigators could not give any other details just yet.

Meanwhile, local residents said they heard shooting, but did not witness an exchange of fire to support the police's claim.

In a separate shooting early Sunday morning,  this time in Quezon City, a man known only as "Bay" to locals, was shot to death at the corner of  Elliptical and Maharlika Streets.

The shooting woke a driver who was asleep at a nearby taxi stand.
