CCTV footage shows abduction of Valenzuela cop in Caloocan
A policeman from Valenzuela City was abducted by still unidentified gunmen in Caloocan City on Thursday, according to a report by Katrina Son on Unang Balita on Friday.
The policeman was identified as Police Officer 1 Jomar Regalado Reyes.
Closed-circuit television footage showed two men at a sari-sari store eating by the roadside. A few minutes after, a red Toyota Avanza passed by D. Arellano Street in Barangay 135.
The two men hurriedly left the store and one of them was later caught on CCTV holding a firearm.
Another CCTV footage showed the Avanza not moving on EDSA in Caloocan City.
It turned out it was at this point when Reyes was brought out of the Avanza and transferred to the vehicle behind it, witnesses said. He was also handcuffed.
"Si Jomar hindi ano eh, hindi siya pinababa eh. Pero nakita namin, pinasok siya sa loob. Pagpasok sa loob, dinukot siya, ipinasok siya sa L300 van. Pinosasan siya eh. Kaya alam namin pulis 'yung kumuha sa kanya dahil siyempre bakit may posas ang tao?" said Johnny Juanito Ramat, barangay chairman.
One of the suspects reportedly drove the Avanza but it stalled. The suspect left the vehicle on EDSA and fled with the other suspects.
Authorities found the Avanza's window broken. The vehicle also had a dent at the back.
Recovered inside the vehicle were several license plates, cash, knives, and hats.
Relatives of Reyes immediately proceeded to the area but refused to give a statement.
Authorities are conducting an investigation to determine the identities and motive of the suspects. —KG, GMA News
