National Capital Region Police Office chief Oscar Albayalde on Monday said he has named a new chief of the Caloocan City Police Station.

Albayalde said Senior Superintendent Jemar Mondequillo is the new head of the Caloocan City Police Station.

Mondequillo meanwhile will be replaced by Superintendent Victor Roseto as chief of the Parañaque City Police Station, Mondequillo's previous post.

Roseto was chief of the Northern Police District's Public Safety Battalion prior to his Parañaque posting.

Mondequillo replaced Senior Superintendent Chito Bersaluna, who was relieved from his post following the Caloocan City policemen's killing of 17-year-old Kian Loyd delos Santos on August 16.

Following the furor over the police operation that led to the killing of Delos Santos, Albayalde suspended the three policemen who were last seen with the teenager : Police Officer 3 Arnel Oares and Police Officers 1 Jeremias Pereda and Jerwin Cruz.

The three policemen's commander at Police Community Precinct 7, Chief Inspector Amor Cerillo, was also relieved from his post and criminal and administrative complaints have been filed against all 4 of them.

Two more policemen -- Police Officer 1 Jeffrey Perez and Police Offcer 1 Ricky Arquilita -- have also been relieved of their duties over the alleged shootout that led to the killing of another teenager, Carl Angelo Arnaiz, in Caloocan just days after Delos Santos' death at the hands of police.

Policemen involved in both the cases of Delos Santos and Arnaiz claim that the teenagers fired at them first. —ALG/KVD, GMA News
