Michael Angelo sought friends' help before he was killed
It seemed that 16-year-old Michael Angelo Remecio was able to ask for help before he was killed, according to his friends' accounts.
Remecio is the young man whose family believes that the unidentified body found in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan was him.
In the "24 Oras" report by GMA News' Jay Sabale, Remecio's friends believed that he is still alive until the wee hours of September 10 as he sent a text message, asking if they could pick him up in a certain salon.
"Pre pasundo naman dito kay... Tas 'yun po di na po nagreply. Parang nanghingi siya ng tulong," said one of his friends.
They immediately went to the place mentioned by Remecio in the text message. The owner of the salon denied that Remecio was there and even let them see his place to prove that their friend was not around.
However, when Remecio's friends were about to leave, they noticed something was odd about the salon owner's behavior.
"Humarurot samin Sir lahat kami inovertake-an eh. 'Yun lang Sir 'yung ano eh. Nagtaka na rin Sir kaya hinabol ng kasama namin, nung naabutan sabi may susunduin lang daw," Remecio's friend said.
Meanwhile, the girlfriend of Remecio said the last time that they were together was on August 26. She was able to talk to Remecio, through online chat, until August 28.
"Four days pa po ako nagchat sa kaniya non eh. Sabi ko mahal nasan ka? Bat di ka nagpaparamdam?" the girlfriend said.
The mother of the victim continues to seek justice for her son.
"Sana po mapabilis po 'yung ano nila sa bata... imbestigasyon... para matapos na po. Makapagpahinga na rin po 'yung bata. Kasi kawawa eh," said Genevie Remecio.
Remecio left his home on August 25 to earn some money by driving a tricycle for hire in their area in Barangay 176, Bagong Silang, Caloocan City.
But the teenager never made it home.
The parents of Remecio believed that the body found in a garbage dump in Bulacan was their son through the teenager's clothes.
Authorities already took samples from the Remecio couple so DNA testing can be done. The results of the test, however, will be released after one month.
Police also said they already have a lead on Remecio's case and are pursuing a person of interest. — Anna Felicia Bajo/BAP, GMA News
