In deep grief and pain, the mother of slain 16-year-old Michael Angelo Remecio is calling for justice following the death of her beloved son.

"Masaya po ko ngayon dahil nandito na po 'yung bata. Ang ano na lang po mabigyan po siya ng hustisya. 'Yung gumawa po sa kanya, gusto ko po talaga makulong. Magsisigurado muna para 'yung tao talagang gumawa non mahuli, madampot," Genevie Remecio said in a "24 Oras" report on Friday.

The coffin of Remecio will no longer be opened during his burial as his body was already in a state of decomposition.

Friends of Remecio went to his burial and even put his favorite menthol cigarette near his picture on his coffin. They recalled that Remecio was a cheerful young man and that he loved animals, especially cats.

"Mabait po... maharot," Remecio's friend said.

"Sana masaya na siya sa taas. Sana kahit wala na siya gabayan niya kami," another friend added.

Meanwhile, some officials of the Commission of Human Rights (CHR) visited the wake of the teenager. They, however, declined to give a statement to the media.

"Nagtanong po sila kung ano nangyari sa anak ko... kung naaksyunan na ba, ano balita, para makatulong naman po sila kung ano problema," Dionisio Remecio, father of the victim, said.

The San Jose del Monte police already identified a person of interest in relation to the case of Remecio, the young man who is believed to have been found dead in Bulacan on Tuesday.

Remecio left his home on August 25 to earn some money by driving a tricycle for hire in their area in Barangay 176, Bagong Silang, Caloocan City.
