Deaths reported in Quezon City road accident

Five people were killed after the brakes of a truck carrying a full load of steel malfunctioned along San Mateo-Batasan Road on Thursday afternoon.

Latest tweet by Super Radyo dzBB's Rowena Salvacion said five people were killed after the truck ran over three cars and several pedestrians along the road. Eight others were reported hurt.

The accident caused severe traffic in the area. The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Quezon City Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS), and QCPD Station 6 are part of the clearing operations.
