Protesters from Southern Tagalog arrive in NCR ahead of ASEAN summit
Members of Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) from Southern Tagalog on Sunday morning marched along Roxas Boulevard and Gil Puyat in Manila to protest the expected arrival of US President Donald Trump.
Radio dzBB's Glenn Juego reported that at least four buses and three jeepneys full of protesters were initially planning to march toward the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).
The militants brought with them a huge flag of the United States but it was not yet clear if they are planning to burn it.

Personnel from the Civil Disturbance Management Unit of the National Capital Region Police Office has prevented the protesters from advancing.

Trump is expected to arrive in Manila on Sunday to attend the 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Leaders' Summit.
Other world leaders are expected to arrive today for the summit.
President Rodrigo Duterte will host a gala dinner for the heads of states on Sunday night.
