Cops eye two to three suspects in Mabel Cama rape-slay case

Police investigators believe two to three perpetrators were behind the gruesome rape and killing of a bank employee in Pasig City recently.

The burned body of Mabel Tagala Cama was found inside the garage of a towing company in Barangay Rosario.

Authorities found her underwear beside her lifeless body.

"Sa amin, hindi kasi kayang iperpetrate ng isa 'yan. Kung isa lang, madaling makasigaw 'yan. Madaling makapiglas 'yan, magpalahaw 'yan. Either dalawa o tatlo siguro, ganon," Senior Inspector Obet Garcia said.

According to Emil Sumangil's report on "24 Oras", police already have witnesses who could provide information and help in solving the case.

They claimed that the perpetrators of the crime were workers inside the garage.

"Unang-una sila 'yung nakikita ng mga witnesses natin doon sa area bago nawala itong biktima," Garcia said.

One claimed that he heard a woman calling for help on the night the incident supposedly happened.

"Meron lang ako narinig nung bandang gabi na nanghihingi ng tulong. Hindi man ako tumayo gawa ng pagod pa ko noon eh. Babae ang boses na naririnig ko," the witness said. —Anna Felicia Bajo/NB, GMA News
