The Philippines has one of the most congested penal facilities in the world, and President Rodrigo Duterte's crackdown on illegal drugs has made worse the situation in the Quezon City Jail.

At least, 200 inmates were released last Friday from the QCJ, after their cases were dismissed in a "mass promulgation" under an agreement between the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and the Department of Justice (DOJ).

But the mass release is insignificant as the QCJ, which is designed to accommodate 700 inmates, now has 3,440.

Cases had to be resolved in order to decongest the facility that over the past year has seen a spike in the number of detainees mainly from the government's heightened drive against illegal drugs.

GMA News' Raffy Tima will show you in a full 360° look how a cell for 70 holds more than 400 inmates.

Inside their cells, inmates needed to add several "floors" to maximize the small space.

Here's an eye-opening situation inside one of the most congested facilities in the Philippines —the Quezon City Jail. The video can be viewed via VR.
