Uber driver jailed after being accused of harassment
An Uber car driver was hauled to jail after his female passenger filed a complaint of harassment.
According to a report on 24 Oras on Sunday, Uber driver Troy Silva was detained at the Quezon City Police District Jail after he was reported to have taken advantage of his female passenger while she was sleeping.
The passenger, bound from Roxas Boulevard to Quezon City, claimed she woke up with Silva's lips on her neck.
Silva denied the allegation. He said the female passenger was drunk and fell asleep during the trip.
Silva said he also wanted to file a complaint against the female passenger's boyfriend who grabbed him by the collar after the trip.
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) is also investigating the incident.
Uber said in a statement that it is already reaching out to the complainant and will prepare summary to be submitted to the LTFRB. —Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/ALG, GMA News
