Commuters offloaded as MRT3 section experiences ‘power failure’

Power failure hit the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT3) prompting the offloading of hundreds of passengers at the North Avenue Station in Quezon City early Monday.

A Super Radyo dzBB report said power failure hit between North Avenue and Kamuning stations at around 5:15 a.m.

The report said majority of the offloaded passengers as well as those waiting in line were forced to take passengers buses instead.

The MRT3 announced on its Twitter account that power returned at the affected stations at 6:15 a.m.

However, only seven trains were running the whole line, from North Avenue station to Taft Avenue. — DVM/ALG, GMA News
