Fire hits Pasig warehouse, residential area


Fire hit a warehouse on Jenny's Avenue and about 40 houses in Barangay Rosario, Pasig City on Tuesday evening, Luisito Santos reported for Super Radyo's dzBB and Athena Imperial on "Saksi."

According to a report on Unang Balita on Wednesday, at least four fire victims were injured and brought to the hospital for treatment.

 

"Sa harap ng SM may mga batang naglalaro ng apoy, biglang lumaki,"  Kagawad Nike Cruz said in an interview.

The fire was placed under control at 1:58 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the Pasig Public Information Office, quoting Superintendent Reynaldo Lorenzo of the Bureau of Fire Protection.

Many of the victims were not able to save any item from their houses.

Those who lost their homes took shelter in a basketball court and a temporary shelter under the C-5 flyover.

The BFP said the cost of damage could reach about P15 million.

An investigation is being conducted to determine the cause of the fire. — Margaret Clare Layug/BAP/KG, GMA News
