55 families affected by fire in Brgy. Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City

Six homes and 55 families were affected by a fire that broke out in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City early Monday morning, according to a report by Jay Sabale on Unang Balita.

The fire quickly spread from the home of Joel Pintang, who woke to found his home burning down from causes still being investigated.

"Nagulat na lang kami nu'ng ginising ako ng pamangkin ko. Malakas na 'yung apoy sa kwarto niya," recalled Pintang, who admitted to tapping power from a neighbor he quickly roused.

Firefighters were able to quickly contain the fire, which they declared to be out past 2 a.m.

Damage to property has yet to be determined.

"Medyo nahirapan tayo, lalo na sa likod. Pero okay naman, na put-out natin ka'gad 'yung apoy," Bureau of Fire Protection Senior Inspector Rufino Tanedo Jr. said.
