Arson ruled out in Manila Pavilion fire

The Bureau of Fire Protection and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation on Tuesday said they have not seen any sign that the fire which engulfed the Waterfront Manila Pavilion Hotel and Casino on Sunday morning was due to arson.

Two employees said they saw a spark in the ceiling on the ground floor before the fire spread. 

The Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory has conducted a microanalysis on the debris from the fire to check for presence of chemicals. 

Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II has ordered the National Bureau of Investigation to probe and build a case over the fatal fire incident. —KG, GMA News
