Suspected drug dealer nabbed in Manila; P2.5-M shabu seized

Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Sunday afternoon seized P2.5 million worth of shabu from a suspected drug dealer in Manila City.

The PDEA identified the suspect as Mangursi Jalanie, who was arrested in a buy-bust operation at the corner of Katigbak Street and Roxas Boulevard in Manila City at around 1:45 p.m.

Seized from the susepct were at least 500 grams of shabu.

The PDEA said the entrapment operation was conducted after a one-month surveillance on the suspect.

The agency said Jalanie was shot and wounded during the operation after he tried to grab an agent's bag containing a firearm.

Jalanie was rushed to the Manila Doctors Hospital, where he is under heavy guard by the PDEA.

He is facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. —ALG, GMA News
