Heaps of trash from Manila Bay washed up along Roxas Boulevard after hours of intense rain from Typhoon Domeng over the weekend, as seen in a report on Monday on News To Go.

Not fewer than 20 personnel from Manila City Hall were tasked to clean up the debris left by the typhoon and southwest monsoon, which continues to bring moderate to heavy rain over Luzon.

Plastic, styrofoam, and deadwood were strewn across the road. More clean-up operations are expected to be organized should more waste wash up on the promenade.

Another report by Victoria Tulad indicated that the local government of Manila plans to fix its garbage disposal as trash remains the single greatest cause of flooding in the city.

One of the biggest examples is the Estero de Magdalena, from which 15 trucks of trash are hauled every day. — Rie Takumi/BM, GMA News
