Woman killed after getting hit by train in Manila
A still unidentified woman died Tuesday morning after being hit by a Philippine National Railways (PNR) train on Perlitas Street in San Andres, Manila.
A report by dzBB's Carlo Mateo on Balitanghali said the woman's body was mangled beyond recognition as she was dragged for about 15 to 20 meters.
She had to be covered with banana leaves before being taken to a funeral parlor.
Manila Police District Station 6 investigator PO2 Rey Rabut said the victim was wearing a green shirt and yellow short pants, and is estimated to be at least 16 years old.
Police are consulting with the barangay in the area for more information on the victim and to look for possible CCTV footage that could shed light on the incident.
Witnesses had allegedly attempted to call her attention to the approaching train but their warnings went unheeded.
The report said the PNR's Incident Reaction Team is conducting its own investigation. —Jessica Bartolome/KBK, GMA News
