Napping cop scolded during Eleazar's surprise inspection in Valenzuela

Ten police stations and police community precincts (PCP) were inspected by National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar early Monday morning.

In a PCP in Marulas, Valenzuela, according to James Agustin's report on Unang Balita, a policeman was caught napping.

The policeman, PO1 Gary Garcia, and another policeman on duty received a dressing down from Eleazar.

"Pupungas-pungas pa. Why? Pagod? Ang sarap ng tulog mo diyan ah," Eleazar was seen telling Garcia in the report.

"'Yung pang-umaga ba authorized matulog sa umaga? Di ba hindi? So 'yung panggabi 'di rin authorized matulog 'yun. Pag duty ibig sabihin duty, hindi tulog. Pag naka-off kayo, doon kayo magpahinga, doon kayo matulog," Eleazar added.

Garcia, who was asked to report to Eleazar in Camp Bagong Diwa within the day, said he fell asleep after preparing a report regarding a recent operation.

"Nakaidlip po. Kakatapos ko lang po gumawa ng spot report po sa huli namin," he said.

In Pritil, Tondo, a locked PCP with the lights turned off greeted Eleazar, who also took note of the trash that littered outside the precinct.

The report said Eleazar also inspected a police station in Novaliches, as well as the Caloocan police's Mobile Patrol Unit, the Station Traffic Accident Investigation Unit and headquarters.

Also inspected were two other PCPs in Valenzuela, PCP 1 of Novaliches Police Station and San Juan Police Station. —KBK, GMA News
