Thousands of INC members gather in Manila to launch anti-poverty campaign
Despite the rain, thousands of Iglesia ni Cristo members flocked to the Quirino Grandstand in Manila on Sunday to launch an anti-poverty campaign.
The two-day event began on Saturday and led to closed roads in the metro, with an MMDA advisory earlier said the stretch of Katigbak Drive, South Drive and Independence Road would be closed to vehicles on Saturday and Sunday for the event.
In an interview on Super Radyo dzBB, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar said that the event is going smoothly, with no untoward incidents having been reported as of 3 p.m.
The event is expected to end at 10 p.m. Sunday.
