Some malls in the metro and nearby areas are waiving overnight parking fees to help customers affected by the floods brought by heavy rainfall due to the enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

In Quezon City, Eastwood Mall announced on Sunday that some establishments are open and that customers may leave their cars in their parking spaces overnight with no additional fees.

"Eastwood Mall is here to serve as shelter to those stranded from the rain. McDonald's, Watsons, Robinsons Supermarket, The Marketplace by Rustan's and all convenience stores are open for your needs. Overnight parking fees are waived for customers affected by various flooding in Metro Manila. Stay safe everyone!" it said in a statement.

Eastwood's fellow Megaworld establishment Lucky Chinatown Mall posted a similar statement.

SM Supermalls posted a similar a similar statement earlier, on Saturday, listing several branches where overnight parking fees have been set aside.

However, it did not specify until when the offer stands.

Ayala Malls' offer of shelter and the suspension of overnight parking fees was made for the dates of August 11 and 12, but the notice also said that the offer could be extended.

"We at Ayala Malls express our concern to those who may be affected by the severe rains and flooding. Please stay safe and dry. (Applicable August 11-12, 2018. Validity is subject to extension. Please wait for updates and further announcements)," it said.

Robinsons Metro East on the Marikina-Infanta Highway in Pasig City and Robinsons Place Pangasinan in Calasiao on Sunday also offered free parking.
