Hundreds join farewell Mass for Padre Pio's relic at Manila Cathedral
Hundreds of devotees took part in the farewell Mass at the Manila Cathedral early on Thursday morning for St. Padre Pio's "incorrupt heart" relic, before it was flown to Cebu.
A report on Super Radyo dzBB's "Dobol B sa News TV" said that the farewell Mass ended at around 7 a.m. and a convoy to take the relic to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport was waiting in front of the Manila Cathedral.
Police security forces were mobilized to secure the activity at the cathedral, the report added.
Hundreds of Catholic devotees were already seen flocking to the Manila Cathedral early Thursday morning.
The relic will stay at the Cebu Cathedral from October 11 to 13, and will be brought to the Davao City Cathedral and stay there from Oct. 14 to 17.
After the Davao stay, the relic will be brought back to St. Padre Pio Shrine in Santo Tomas, Batangas and stay there from Oct. 18 to 26 before it will be brought back to Italy. —LBG, GMA News
