12 teenagers facing raps escape from Manila youth center

Twelve teenagers who are facing charges have escaped from the Manila Youth Reception Center in Arroceros, Manila before dawn Wednesday.

The minors were mostly girls who have been slapped with cases related to illegal drugs, according to a report on Dobol B sa News TV by Carlo Mateo.

Social Welfare Officer Nanette Tanyag said the teenagers supposedly used a saw to escape from their rooms.

Tanyag will investigate the incident and will ask the officials and house parents of the youth center to explain how the incident happened. —Anna Felicia Bajo/KG, GMA News
