A stall owner fired his gun at least three times at the Greenhills Shopping Center early Wednesday evening causing several shoppers to run for safety.

National Capital Region Police Office chief Director Guillermo Eleazar identified the suspect as Alvin Salic Baunto.

He was promptly arrested by San Juan police officers after the incident.

"He was a Muslim trader. Naniningil siya ng utang. Eh 'di siya nakasingil, kaya siya nagpaputok. Naaresto namin siya at nakuha rin namin 'yung baril,” Eleazar said.

Eleazar said policemen also confiscated the suspect's 9 mm pistol.

Senior Superintendent Dindo Reyes, chief of the San Juan City Police, said the suspect fired his gun three times.

“Ipinutok niya sa taas, tatlong beses. Naniningil siya ng utang. Muslim rin. Hindi siya makasingil kaya nagalit siya," Reyes said.

"Eh pagtutulungan raw siya nung tropa, kaya nagpaputok siya,” he added.

“Wala namang nasaktan. Siya may sugat sa mukha, parang kalmot,” Reyes said. —NB, GMA News
