A fire of still undetermined origin destroyed houses in Sta. Ana, Manila on Sunday morning, leaving 30 families homeless.

GMA News' Vonne Aquino reported on Balitanghali that the fire hit a residential area at the corner of Cristobal and F. Manalo Streets at about 11 a.m.

“Malayo 'yung area at saka masikip ang daanan. Ang dami-daming truck natin pero hindi naman makapasok kaya malaking tulong 'yung mga barangay fire trucks natin na first responder,” said the chief of Manila Fire District intelligence and investigation section Fire Senior Inspector Lucio Albaracin.

An initial investigation showed that the fire started from the second floor of an unattended house and was possibly caused by appliances left plugged.

The fire that reached the second alarm destroyed 10 houses, a car, and a motorcycle. —Joviland Rita/LBG/KG, GMA News
