Garbage collector dies in accident involving Makati candidate’s motorcade

A garbage collector died in an accident involving his garbage truck and a campaign motorcade truck in Makati City.

According to a report on GMA's 24 Oras Weekend on Sunday, the truck being used for Makati congressional candidate Kid Peña's campaign activity hit the garbage truck, causing its tailgate to fall.

The head of victim Eduardo Arcilla was crushed by the damaged tailgate.

The driver of the motorcade truck, Anthony Rebano, surrendered to the police and said that he did not immediately notice that he had hit the garbage truck.

Rebano will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.

Peña expressed his condolences to the victim's family and said that he will do his best to provide assistance. — Dona Magsino/BM, GMA News
