Abandoned infant found along Caloocan sidewalk

Caloocan police responded to an unusual report—a newborn infant found abandoned on a sidewalk in Barangay 157, according to a report on GMA News' Saksi on Friday

The police said they found the infant while doing a routine patrol of their area around 3 a.m. on Thursday.

The infant was immediately brought to the hospital, was placed in the intensive care unit, but otherwise is in stable condition as of posting time.

The infant was given a temporary name, Mateo Doe, because it was rescued on May 2.

Authorities are investigating the case, to identify the person/s who left the child. — BAP/KG, GMA News
