Isko Moreno on Erap: 'I wish him well'
Manila Mayor-elect Isko Moreno on Wednesday wished former President and outgoing Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada, whom he defeated in the May 13 elections, well.
"I wish him well, good health, and I hope he will enjoy his time with his family," said Moreno in an interview on Unang Balita.
Moreno, a former actor before entering politics, said he has yet to talk to Estrada after the elections. He and the former President were once allies.
"Siguro naman sapat na rin 'yung napaglingkod niya sa taumbayan at napapanahon naman siguro na makasama niya ang kanyang pamilya," Moreno said of Estrada, a veteran politician.
Aside from Estrada, Moreno — Francisco Domagoso in real life — also defeated Alfredo Lim, a former Manila mayor.
In a statement on Tuesday, Estrada congratulated Moreno and wished him "all the best for the good of the people of Manila."
Himself a former actor before entering politics, Estrada said he will "prepare the smooth turnover of the city government." —KBK, GMA News
