Vico Sotto preparing to take helm of Pasig amid reports of ‘planned disruption’
Mayor-elect Vico Sotto and his supporters are preparing for an orderly transition in the city amid reports of plans to disrupt the transfer of authority.
According to Lei Alviz's report on "24 Oras", there have been reports that certain groups are out to sow disorder before the turnover of power on June 30.
"Everyone is hoping for a peaceful transition ngayon sa mga nagbabalak manggulo, isa lang mensahe ko sa kanila. Ano ba mas importante, yung pansariling interes o 'yung interes ng bayan?" Sotto said.
"Nasaan ba loyalty nila? Nasa isang politiko ba o nasa Pasig City?" he added.
Sotto was proclaimed on May 14, defeating reelectionist mayor Robert Eusebio.
His victory ended the 27-year rule of the Eusebio clan in Pasig.
"Matagal tayong naghintay. ...Buti, narinig na ang sigaw ng Pasigeno," Sotto had said in an earlier report on Eleksyon 2019: The GMA News and Public Affairs Special Coverage.
"Confident po ako sa aking kakayanan, confident ako lalo na narinig ko kung ano ang gusto ng Pasigeno after 27 years na isang pamilya ang namyahal sa ating lungsod," he said. —NB, GMA News
