Manila Water apologizes after road works cause traffic congestion in Rizal

Manila Water apologized for its ongoing road work along the Manila East Road that plunged commuters and motorists in Rizal including Taytay, Binangonan, and Angono into an early morning traffic exodus on Friday.

According to GMA News' Mark Salazar in his report on Balitanghali, Manila Water said it aims to finish the 11-kilometer road restoration project by the end of June.

As of early morning on Friday, the roadwork left only two lanes for motorists to use.

Many employees were late for work and delivery trucks were running behind schedule.

With cement still wet and pavement busted open, the road work has also begun to affect businesses along the roadways.—Margaret Claire Layug/LDF, GMA News
