Janelle Manahan puzzled at acquittal of RJ Bautista, 5 others in Ramgen Revilla slay

Janelle Manahan, the former girlfriend of actor Ramgen Revilla who was murdered in 2011, said she already expected the decision of a Parañaque court regarding the case, according to Jamie Santos' Balitanghali Weekend report.

However, she said she could not understand why alleged mastermind Ramon Joseph "RJ" Bautista and five others accused were acquitted.

"Umamin naman 'yung iba eh. Umamin 'yung ibang kasama nila sa naging pag-plot ng crime so hindi ko talaga maintindihan kung bakit sila na-acquit," she said.

Manahan expressed worries for her security.

It was about midnight on October 28, 2011 when masked men broke into Ramgen's house then shot and stabbed the actor and Manahan.

Manahan survived, sustaining gunshot wounds in the cheek and shoulder.

They were both sent to the Parañaque General Hospital, where Ramgen, 23 years old at the time, was declared dead on arrival.

Ramgen is the son of former senator and actor Ramon Revilla Sr.

The Parañaque Regional Trial Court Branch 274 found Bautista, Michael Jay Nartea, Roy Francis Tolisora, Glaiza Visda, Jay Norwin dela Cruz, and Ryan Pastera not guilty of murder and frustrated murder due to "lack of sufficient evidence."

Meanwhile, the court ordered the issuance of an alias warrant of arrest against Ma. Ramona Belen Bautista, Ramgen's sister and also one of the accused.

She did not face court and was believed to have gone abroad.

Financial feud and personal grudge were seen as possible motives in the crime. —Jamil Santos/KG, GMA News
