LTFRB suspends bus firm in deadly NLEX accident while probe is ongoing
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has ordered the temporary suspension of Buena Sher Transport after one of its buses figured in a fatal accident along the North Luzon Expressway on Friday night.
A GMA News 24 Oras Weekend report said the LTFRB issues an "immediate suspension" order against the bus company, preventing it from deploying its fleet of buses while the investigation on the incident is ongoing.
The bus company will also be asked to explain why its franchise will not be canceled as a result of the accident
The report also said an insurance company has already been instructed to get in touch with the families of the victims.
At least eight people died and several were injured after a Buena Sher Transport bus traveling southbound on NLEX hit an SUV and crossed into the northbound side before turning on its side.
Passengers said the bus was traveling fast even if the road was slippery as it was raining at that time. — MDM, GMA News
