Balintawak clearing ops continue
Authorities continued with their clearing operations around Balintawak Market in Quezon City early on Wednesday morning, according to a report by Darlene Cay on GMA News' Unang Balita.
Personnel of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, Department of Public Order and Safety, and the Environmental Protection and Waste Department of Quezon City went around as early as 4 a.m. to apprehend illegal vendors occupying roads and sidewalks and motorists parking illegally.
They also made sure the trash were picked up by a garbage truck.
Clearing operations began on June 8. MMDA personnel said fewer people were apprehended on Wednesday, adding that the previous operations served as deterrent.
Balintawak is now cleaner, they said.
The local government said clearing operations will continue to ensure orderliness. —KG, GMA News
