1 dead, 4 injured after old building collapses in Caloocan

A caretaker of an old building in Grace Park, Caloocan died after the structure collapsed on Thursday amid bad weather.

According to a report by Sandra Aguinaldo on GMA's 24 Oras, the structure was undergoing demolition when it crumbled due to rains and strong winds around 11 a.m.

A wall of the three-storey building fell on the victim who was only identified as "Jan-Jan." He was already dead when he was found by the rescue team.

Four other workers, including the security guard of the property, were injured.

Authorities are still verifying whether the owner of the building holds a demolition permit. —Dona Magsino/LDF, GMA News
