Cop killed in Quezon City shooting incident —police

Armed men riding tandem on a motorbike shot a policeman in Quezon City heading home from duty on Saturday night.

A report on Dobol B sa News TV by Julee Anne Mae Cabrera identified the victim as Police Senior Master Sergeant Anthony Lacson.

Quezon City Police District Station 9 chief Police Lt. Col. Cipriano Galanida was quoted as saying that the incident happened  on Anonas St. at past 8 p.m.

Lacson was assigned  as desk officer of the Anonas Police Station. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead shortly after arrival.

Police are investigating the incident to determine the motive and identify the perpetrators of the crime. —LBG, GMA News
