MRT-3 resumes full operations

The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) resumed full operations after the Overhead Catenary System was reconnected.

“Operations of the entire MRT-3 line from North Ave. Station to Taft Station will resume at 5:00 p.m.," the MRT-3 management said in an advisory.

“At 4:35 p.m., MRT-3’s Overhead Catenary System Team has successfully reconnected and restored the catenary cable that was cut earlier today at Guadalupe Station,” it said.

Work site clearing and the return of the stalled train and maintenance vehicle to the depot are ongoing, and will be completed by 5:00 p.m.

“After normalizing operations, MRT-3 will proceed to investigate the cause of the cut catenary cable,” it said.

Earlier, the Overhead Catenary System cable was reported to have been cut at around 6:17 a.m.

At 6:20 a.m., the MRT-3 management announced that a provisional service from North Avenue to Shaw Boulevard has been implemented.

At 9:45 a.m., the MRT-3 implemented partial operations to serve passengers on both bounds of North Avenue Station to Shaw Boulevard Station. —Ted Cordero/VDS, GMA News
